  • Legal custody and decision making:
  • Who makes the major decisions for the child(ren)
  • Parenting time: Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays, Vacations, birthdays, summer vacation times
  • Access to information:
  • Medical records, school records
  • Parental relocation
  • Resolving unresolved future parenting issues

CHILD SUPPORT

  • Child Support Standards Act
  • Educational expenses
  • Child care
  • Camp
  • Extra curricular activities; sports, education, recreation
  • Budget for children’s expenses
  • Adjustment for future needs or income changes

MAINTENANCE

  • Is it an issue in your matter?
  • Respective incomes and respective budgets of the parties

TAX ISSUES

  • Dependency exemptions
  • Past deficiencies or surplus
  • Child support v. Maintenance

DIVISION OF PROPERTY AND EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION

All property is identified through shared data and information, including documentation, tax returns and business documents. Property is then divided into marital and non marital property.
